The SMT16B is a three-screw pump designed for industrial low-pressure applications (up to 40 bar). The pump is ideal for long life and smooth fluid flow with its reliability and noiseless performance. The SMT16B pump is self-priming and assembled in a pump body. Its pump body and screw design eliminate axial loads. The functional pressure creates some tolerances between the balance piston of the main screw and the surrounding body, which lubricates and cools the sealing parts while generating balanced fluid dynamics. The moving torque of the lateral screw is transmitted hydraulically by the pumped fluid, which allows the screw to rotate without mechanical wear.
The advanced design and high-precision manufacturing of the screws ensure extremely low noise and pulsation levels. The geometry and high-precision machining of the three screws form a sealed chamber. During the screw rotation, the main screw forms a cavity that contains the fluid and drives it smoothly axially from the inlet to the outlet.
The SMT16B pump can be equipped with an internal or external safety relief valve. Compared to the SMT pump, the SMT16B has a shorter screw and is suitable for applications where space is limited.
